Steve Martin, P.Eng.


President


Steve Martin
Those who know Steve, know he is passionate about delivering technically superior solutions to the complete satisfaction of his clients. He listens carefully to customers and is a strong believer in collaboration and thinking outside the box to find innovative solutions. These same qualities make him a natural leader for TAC.

Steve has been in the building controls industry since earning his B. Eng. Degree from the University of Waterloo. He has been involved in all aspects of the business from technical sales and design to project management and systems start-up. As a result, even today, Steve rolls up his sleeves and is directly involved in many client projects.


Anthony Licata


Sales Manager


Tony Licata
In his role with TAC as Sales Manager, Tony provides leadership to the growing sales force, working hard to build a team atmosphere, fostering an environment of high integrity and a commitment to doing the right thing.

Tony has been with TAC for seven years, but providing value to his clients in sales and account management capacities for more than twenty years.


Les Martin


Service Manager


Les Martin
Les joined TAC in 2003 as service coordinator, but quickly provided the needed strategic vision for the department and worked his way up to manager. He now manages a team of technicians and in-office service staff who respond to our clients needs around the clock, from scheduled preventative maintenance visits to troubleshooting time critical support calls.

“Building long-term relationships with our clients and exceeding their expectations is what I like most about this job,” says Les. “In addition, it’s great to work with such highly talented people everyday.”


John Valkenburg


Tech Manager


John Valkenburg
John Valkenburg joined the TAC team in 1990 as a part-time designer of control systems and front end software. Today, as the Tech Manager, John masterfully troubleshoots hardware problems and writes effective systems software.

“TAC has a reputation for the most advanced and reliable control systems on the market,” says John. “I enjoy applying my technical knowledge and skills to making that happen.”


Dan Washington, MBA


Operations Manager


Dan Washington
As TAC’s Operations Manager, Dan brings an extensive background in industrial operations. An advocate of Lean Thinking, he applies this management principle to the continuous improvement initiatives at TAC. In a short period of time, Dan has made significant contributions to cost control and productivity. Dan has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Queen’s University.

“What I appreciate about working for TAC the most is the strong set of core values,” says Dan, “especially when it comes to client service. Everyone in the company demonstrates those values everyday.”


Paul Wratten, CA


Controller


Paul Wratten
As TAC’s Controller, Paul believes in keeping it simple. In these times and all times, he believes in paying attention to what the numbers are telling you to ensure fiscal prudence. His goal is to further strengthen financial management, providing valuable reports to the management team to better equip them and inform important decisions.

Paul has been in the accounting world for more than ten years and has lived across Canada—from Ontario to Vancouver Island to Nunavut where he spent the last five years as the CFO of the Crown Power Utility. We’re glad he’s decided to call Orangeville home.


Jason Young, P.Eng.


Engineering Manager


Jason Young
Jason has been an integral part of the Engineering department at TAC since 2003, following his graduation from the University of Waterloo where he studied Mechanical Engineering. Jason also balanced Engineering with some Project Management for the last 3 years. In January 2009, Jason was appointed the Engineering Manager and leads a team of 4 engineers.

“While we have a great team now, I am focused on improving our standards. We have had a period of rapid growth so I want to stream line the effort, implementing best practices and developing a core set of procedures. This will produce greater consistency in our shop drawings resulting in higher quality installations and improved comfort and trust for our customers.”
